I feel that this goes against every more experienced person. Why am I writing all this - because there are people everywhere who come out with a claim that the newest is always the best and who uses older stuff, gets crushed by the system. PS: I'm not old-fashioned or technology denying - on the contrary, I consider myself experienced enough to know when newest is not always the best. (I'm using Window 7 in one of my computers and 10 in another, I have a good comparison experience) If anyone knows any REAL reason to use newer Windows than 7, I'm interested to hear it. Good os should sell itself, people will actually want to use it because it's better, not because it's newer or they are forced to do so. (Like artificially disabling using of Windows 7 in some programs and hardware).
The biggest red flag when upgrading to Windows 10 (or 11) should be the fact that this "upgrade" is forced upon peole in any ways possible. And there are work-arounds even for that.
It's the full support of DirectX 12īut - it's mostly used in just a few games and therefore isn't life-altering to miss it. To be absolutely honest - there is one thing (only this one) that's missing from Windows 7 and is included in Win 10 and 11. There is a saying: "Don't fix things that are working". With the coming of Windows 7 this os reached it's peak. And adds.Īnd comparing usage of Windows 7 with using some older Windows (like Win95 or 98) is very wrong - these older Windows were not ready. Decreased user control over things, many good stuff cut out and the whole tablet oriented UI. Most of the "features" that are added are just junk, not to mention all the telemetry stuff. I haven't seen anything that makes newer Windows better than Win 7. And many (not all though) new versions of programs have some coin miners or other crap built in, constant hard drive noise and higher CPU usage when these newer and supposedly "better" versions are running.Īlso there are tons of "older" programs that are neccessary for some specific tasks and these programs won't work on Windows 10 or 11. In latest years almost always new versions of most programs are really bad. If someone says that newer programs won't work on Windows 7, I ask - who forces to use the newest versions of all programs? In my experience newer versions are often worse. I'd like to add that the last real Windows operating system was Windows 7.
Or even simpler, come to any guy in the car and tell him "your car is so old and don't have many features, with holes, you must upgrade it", will see how much time pass till you get hit in the face. Go to nuclear plant and tell to the stuff "why the heck you didn't upgrade to win11? your computers and os are so old". Those who need new "features" and follow pop culture don't need your opinion cause they already in the same boat. Quit this disrespect and arrogance forcing own opinion, all you get in the back is ignorance and hate. You know how many times i heard such bullshit "I guarantee it might be a few years or even a decade, but you will have to switch to Windows 11"? Every tech forum and topic about win10/11 have these kind of words, everybody think themselves smart ass, but nobody accept that other people may have more knowledge, they do different tasks with computer (definetly don't play stupid games and don't upgrade photoshop from 2020 to 2021, 2022, etc). There are articles from professionals who show facts how bad win10 is, but again, people always prefer sweet lie. I know from the programmers who work there how bad development process is, they just forced to add new features asked by stupid managers and previous code is not complete, just made in a hurry.
Win10 and 11 are never safe and polished, with every second update something is get broken. People always say like this, repeating propaganda from M$, it's not their own thoughts.
